Detroit Metal City

This is probably the best movie I’ve seen so far for 2009. It’s about a farm boy (Negishi) who studied in Tokyo to pursue his dream of leading a ‘trendy’ (yes, trendy, WTF right?) life and making ‘trendy’ pop music. But much to his dismay he ends up playing for a satanic heavy metal band. The twist, turns and puns in the movie are quite predictable but it is the actors’ performances that nails this mother-f*cker. I was laughing so hard from start to finish. I never enjoyed a movie this much. After the movie I already lost my voice from laughing so loud non-stop. This is one movie that everybody’s gotta watch.
